Great show last night at Douglass Street Music Collective: Mike Pride's From Bacteria to Boys, the Nate Wooley Quintet, even though you're only 9. It was very jazzy - "jazzy" - whatever. I mean, composed pieces that swing occasionally and involve chords that are in some way interpreted by soloists. Speaking broadly, I can't stand "modern" jazz, I really like most things recorded before 1975, I only play jazz with close friends, etc.

This and GLEAM were recorded live at Zebulon in Williamsburg on Sept 17, 2009...band was myself (trumpet, yelling), Nathaniel Morgan (alto sax), Jonathan Goldberger (baritone guitar), and Mike Pride (drums).

hungry cowboy is a new quartet featuring Andrew D'Angelo on alto sax and bass clarinet, Jonathan Goldberger on guitars, and Mike Pride on drums. The music, all composed utilizing graphic techniques, is loosely based on the writing style of Cormac McCarthy.
